In a word: bazaar

A film leading the way in the What-the-fuck genre. Seriously I had no clue what-so-ever, what was going on while watching this, slack jawed all the way through.
this hour and twenty-five minute long black and white trip, begins with the jokers brother pulling a few switches, then he are thrown into a world of bazaaraties. Henry goes to see his girlfriend and stays with her family for dinner. for their awkward meal they have mini chicken which bleeds from the whole whenever you are about to carve it.
Some weird stuff happens then we find out Henry-boy has had a rather strange little baby. This baby, however, is like no other. Smooth slimy skin and a long thin neck extruding from a peble-ish head down into a bundle of bandages.
The baby does not stop crying for about the same length of time as the ice age, suggesting the film is set in Haringey...
After that there really is no story, just strange happenings. At one point Henry's head pops up and we see a replica baby poking out from his remaining neck.
On a scale factor from one to ten of what-the-fuck i would give it a solid 9.3. Loads of things happen that not even a thesaurus could describe. The only other film I think I could compare it to is the evil dead 2 and doesn't even come close. Most of the sound is ambiance and the dialog is kept to a bare minimum. The first voice comes in ten minutes into the film. Which by then in ‘The Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy’, the Earth had been demolished...
The cast comprises of the joker's brother and the family of admiral Ackbar. The acting I would say is brilliant, creating the awkward and shifty atmosphere to allow such horrors to become acceptable to the average not-a-freak person. Another thing allowing my head not to blow up is the effects creating a sense of realism.
I thought the end was mostly inconclusive and maybe could have done with more than a bottle of spray cream going over the top. Had this film been a person, it would be sitting in a dark corner twitching and listening to extreme minimalism.
Over all, if you're looking for a film to freak you out a little, go for it. If you're just looking for a nice ol' black n' white, it's best to keep on looking.

Review of film: Repo the genetic opera
In 451 words:
Firstly I must apologise. I didn’t take many notes of this film, simply because I was sitting in awe for an hour and a half.
The story is simple but then again, who cares?
The world begins to deteriorate due to an epidemic of organ failure, but lukily Gene-co has found a way of making organ transplants amazingly easy.
Next thing you know every ones getting organ transplants. But. Not every one can pay for the surgery, so a man is sent out to reposes the organs implanted into the dreading people.
Lot’s of exiting things happen along this colourful, yet grim journey. My favourite of these events has to be Paris Hilton’s face falling off. The colour from this story comes from a rather entertaining comic style narration which allows the back story to be put across with out some sort of confusing “wait is this a flashback” scene which I often find aggravating.
The visual effects in this are seeming-less and not once did I ever question if any of the hearts and gore where real. Yes, as you can see, it’s guts galore so again not one for you squeamish peoples.
The film starts straight off and we get to know the characters through the impressive Comic strips so that means no getting bored while a depressing monolog drifts past unconcerned ears. The characters are well portrayed by the modern upbeat music and to be honest there was only one song that annoyed me, which was the 17 one, and frankly she deserved that slap. Most of the characters are freaks. A surgery addict, a man with some one else’s strapped on to his and a woman with holographic eyes, could this be better than a note book that kills people or a red fat man with a giant hand? Well, yes to the latter
Acting: now for me the acting was top notch! I was laughing for ages at the fact that Rupert Giles from ‘Buffy’ was playing the part of a ninja surgeon. Every time he started to sing I had a flash back of an episode of ‘buffy’ I saw when every one started to burst out in song and dance then explode into flames. Every one fits very well into their parts, weather they are ninjas or spoilt daughters. If I had to chose a favourite, I would defiantly choose the Repo.
I thought that the end was amazing, though a little unclear and I kind of expected it but not really… if that makes sense.
Some of the singing was a bit off, but forgivable. So over all it’s an excitingly fresh and eccentric film that will make you laugh your nose off.

First up.
So i thought I'd start off reviewing an old film. i mean old as in 1962.
'The brain that wouldn't die'
In a word: mishap.
In 261 words:
The Film starts off with a chilling, frail voice stating: "Let me die - let me die!"
then we fade into a slightly rigid surgery scene, in which a doctor tries an extremely unorthodox... brain heart massage thing. as you can imagine - the doctor states how amazing he is and flaunts off with his wife-to-be to his country house (yeah i thought he was a bit of a dick too) where there is apparent danger from the closet.
On the way to said house, speeding goes tits up and a limp, frail hand is visible then flops off screen. oh yeah, and she's pregnant I think... maybe she isn't it's hard to tell.
Smart-arse doctor runs to his country house with a small bundle and declares when he arrives: "there was a terrible accident, I've got to save her" in one of the most unconvincing voices ever.
So, after looking at some tubes for a while we are subjected to wifey's head rigged up to some sort of thing...
Any way, in fear of giving the story away I'll just settle with; it's slow moving, simple dialog and some parts don't really make sense or maybe that was just me not paying attention due to mates on msn...
The effects are surprisingly good for a film of the time. I like the idea of a "thing" in the cupboard. best thing about it i would have to say is: the title at the beginning (The Brain That Wouldn't Die) is different to the end title (The Head That Wouldn’t Die)
